School Disco

Be Cool Not Cruel!
On Thursday 25th June, the Year 3 and Year 4 boys had to get to school before 8:40 a.m. because they were participating in a “Be Cool No Cruel” activities day at Camden Show Ground. The boys split into two groups and participated in six different activities. Their first activity was A.F.L. where the blue team beat the red team by 13 points. The next activity involved learning ball skills for basketball. This activity was followed by cricket, martial arts and then hip hop dancing.
This day was organised to teach boys how to share and work together as a team - “BE COOL NOT CRUEL!” We had a great day!

St. Anthony’s Feast Day
On Friday 12th of June the students celebrated the feast day of St. Anthony, our school’s patron saint. St. Anthony was born in Lisbon, Portugal in 1195 and entered the Franciscan order when he was 25. He did a lot of missionary work in Africa and Italy. St Anthony died in Padua on June 13th 1231.
We went out to the church at Tahmoor, where we celebrated mass together as a school. We then had our morning tea together. Each grade then organised activities for the students to participate in. A fun day was had by all the students.

Diocesan Rugby Union Gala Day
Last Wednesday 27th May, 15 Boys from Year 5/6 travelled to Vikings Rugby Park in Wollongong for the Annual Rugby Union Gala Day. The boys coached by Mr John Ayoub played 3 pool games, winning all games convincingly against Camden B, Camden C and Mittagong and finished 2nd to Nowra on for against in their pool.
The boys entered the semi finals full of confidence. They were drawn to play St Clares, Narellan Vale. The semi final was played with great skill, with both teams scoring two tries and finishing equal on points. However, St Anthony’s scored first, and therefore progressed to the Final against Nowra.
The final produced some excellent attacking rugby skills as well as tremendous defence by both teams. St Anthony’s were expecting a tough final. Unfortunately, for our school this was what happened and the boys were defeated 25 to 10, however, it was the highest result for our school since the introduction of the Gala Day.
The boys are to be congratulated on the way they represented St Anthony’s, for the skill they displayed in all their games and for the sportsmanship they showed during and after each game.
Well Done, Team!
